Deliverables: Logo Design · Newsletter Mailer

 

Objective: Create a playful and vibrant brand identity for the iconic Coney Island Mermaid Parade, along with a coordinating newsletter mailer to promote the event and engage the community.

Design Approach: Inspired by the whimsy of cotton-candy pastels, sun-warmed sand, and the soft glow of an early ocean sunrise, I designed a visual identity that feels feminine, fun, and full of lighthearted energy. The overall tone is airy, relaxed, and celebratory—mirroring the joyful, eclectic spirit of the event.

The logo features a happy, carefree mermaid, her form gracefully curving around Coney Island’s iconic Wonder Wheel. The integration of the mermaid and the landmark creates a visual narrative that is both location-specific and symbolic of the event’s playful charm.

The newsletter mailer extends this visual language with complementary colors, clean typography, and engaging content layout—inviting readers to dive into the event’s details with excitement and ease.
